Thanks to liposomal delivery technology, salicylic acid is released gradually into the skin, enhancing performance while minimising dryness and irritation often associated with traditional BHA products.

Salicylic acid is widely known for its ability to unclog pores, improve acne, smooth skin texture, and support clearer skin. However, in many formulas it can be difficult for the skin to absorb and may cause dryness at higher strengths.

In LIPOACTIVE BHA, salicylic acid is enclosed within microscopic lipid spheres (liposomes). These act as a targeted delivery system, transporting the active ingredient deeper into the skin — where it can work more effectively and for longer.

Is encapsulation necessary if salicylic acid is a stable active?
Salicylic acid is indeed a stable ingredient and does not oxidise like retinal or pure ascorbic acid (vitamin C). However, encapsulation is not used here for stability reasons.

Is a 1% concentration of salicylic acid suitable for sensitive skin?
Yes. Thanks to liposomal encapsulation, the risk of irritation is significantly reduced. The salicylic acid is released slowly and gradually, allowing it to act over a longer period of time instead of hitting the skin all at once.
This controlled release helps minimize redness, dryness, or stinging. If your skin is very sensitive or reactive, we still recommend patch testing on a small area first — just to be safe.
Is LIPOACTIVE BHA an exfoliant?
Not in the traditional sense. LIPOACTIVE BHA is not a peel or harsh exfoliant.
That said, salicylic acid naturally promotes exfoliation by helping loosen and remove corneocytes (dead skin cells that sit on the surface of your skin). This process — called desquamation — improves skin glow, reduces the likelihood of clogged pores, and enhances the absorption of other active ingredients.
Unlike high-strength acid peels, LIPOACTIVE BHA works in a skin-friendly, long-lasting way, making it suitable for daily use.
Do I need to take breaks from using LIPOACTIVE BHA?
No. LIPOACTIVE BHA is formulated for continuous daily use. You can safely apply it morning and evening, without cycling or breaks.
Does LIPOACTIVE BHA contain 1% salicylic acid or 1% liposomal salicylic acid solution?
The formulation contains 1% pure salicylic acid.
In addition, the product includes a higher amount of liposomal carrier solution, which enables effective encapsulation and controlled delivery of the active ingredient.
